The Days of the Dog
I Giorni del Cane (The Days of the Dog) is my graduation short movie, which I realized with four other students. We realized this five minutes short movie in one year period of time in both 2D and Stop Motion and we used Tv Paint and Dragonframe as animation's softwares. We worked on everything, from pre-production to the final compositing, I especially realized the story, the script, the 2D animation layouts, rough and clean animation and created some set props and puppets and some of the stop motion scenes.
2D ANIMATION
Pre Production Work: Expression and poses for the main characters, La Morte (The Death) and Il Cane (The Dog).
STOP MOTION ANIMATION
The story is about The Death, who receives a last job which is to kill The Dog, a single 30 years old dog who lives alone in a small apartment, the movie revolves around the interaction between these two and the gags created by the failed attempts of The Death to kill The Dog, who, without even realizing it, always escapes. With a surprise ending the short movie tries to tackle a treacherous theme such as death and fatal destiny with irony and lightness, creating two funny and clumsy characters who conquer the heart of the viewer.
